When we service regular taps we remove the tap handles and spindles and install new heavy duty jumper valves. The o'ring is removed and a new greased o'ring is installed. The brass tap seat in refaced where required ensuring a tight seal between the washer and the seat.
Some taps have ceramic disc kits instead of tap washers. These taps can be difficult to service especially if they have been imported from another country and the parts are not available.
